women and men are facing a lot more stress in their
lives every day. Stress in fact appears to be a primary
cause of many problems in peoples lives including
marital and health problems. If you are having
difficulty coping with stress, you will find the

1. Take some deep breaths. Breath in and breath out
slowly until you calm down. When you are stressed, this
technique does work and it is also proven to lower blood
pressure.
2. Be optimistic, assertive and confident. Do you often
find yourself down in the dumps in a negative
pessimistic vile mood? Well guess what? You are not
alone. The key here is to be positive - however like all
good things in life this takes practice.
3. Start exercising. go walking, join a gym or aerobics
class etc. Instead of punching walls, regular exercise
is an excellent way to blow off steam in a healthy way.
4. If possible assign some of your work overload to
other people. Have family members help with the chores,
hire a painter, pay the neighbors kid to cut your grass
and so on - do whatever it takes to relieve some of the
stress and burden in your life.
5. Turn on the stereo - Listen to your favorite music.
As they say music tames the savage beast. Listening to
music should help you unwind and soothe your cooked
nerves. Watch a comedy movie - laughing is good for the
soul and will help relieve your stress and pent up
energy.
By applying these stress management tips you should be
able to take control of stressful situations. Don't let
stress control your life. Remember, taking control of
your stress isn't going to happen overnight, it takes
practice. And, repetition is the key to success with
anything. Apply these techniques as soon as you start
feeling stressed.
